As we are nearing Christmas day, I thought it would be appropriate to share a hopeful quote for the holidays. It’s that time again where love is in the air and we are reminded of our family, friends and our blessings. For a magical moment, we forget about all our hardships and everything feels perfect. For the rest of the year however, we’re less connected with what keeps us grounded and we tend to return to a more independent lifestyle. But it’s important to count our blessings and to remember that we own the greatest gift of all — that we are loved. Here is a quote by someone I have developed a deep respect for:
If you enter this world knowing you are loved, and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with. – Michael Jackson
I know there are difficult situations we face that render us feeling utterly hopeless and desperate. But I do believe that no struggle cannot be solved as long as we have someone by our side who loves us. If we are loved, nothing is as bad as it could be. I think if everyone uses this energy as fuel for our lives and learn to see how powerful it is to have someone care about you, we can accomplish more than we originally had set off to accomplish, and our lives would be that much more meaningful. I am always haunted by the image of people on their death beds. I try to picture what they would be thinking about when they are alone in their rooms. I think I have a pretty good idea that they are reflecting back on their lives. They think about all the hardships that they went through and they laugh at it, realizing how little it matters in the end. They think about their loved ones and realize that this is what made their whole journey worthwhile. We don’t think about the impact of this enough, not until we’ve reached the end of the game. I think if everyone keep this appreciation alive all year round, all life long, in everything that we do and everywhere we go, then there would be so much more hope in this world. Use your blessings to your advantage and never forget that we are born surrounded by love, and we will die surrounded by love. Everything else comes second.
